“A lifetime Midwesterner, Lisa has spent her life with animals – including dogs, cats, birds, small pets, and more. When her very first dog as an adult began struggling with anxious behaviors, Lisa quickly began learning all she could about how to compassionately reframe her dog’s perception of the world around them. Using positive methods, Lisa’s dog was able to overcome her challenges and developed into an absolute rock star – becoming the first of her breed to earn a rally obedience title in two venues, earning a multitude of titles in many sports, and becoming a certified therapy dog. Experiencing this amazing relationship with her dog inspired Lisa to continue learning to be the best trainer she could be. Throughout her career, Lisa has earned the Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) certificate, became a Canine Good Citizen evaluator (CGC) and Socialized Pet Obedience Test evaluator (SPOT), and is a Fear Free Certified Professional – Training. She has been a professional dog trainer for thirteen years and has worked in a diverse history of organizations, with a special penchant for shelter dogs and behavioral management.
When asked to join the Fear Free team, Lisa was thrilled to become a part of this compassionate and intelligent organization. It is a privilege to assist veterinary practices in their certification aspirations and to work alongside such caring and talented individuals. The quote “It’s a beautiful thing when a career and passion come together” comes to mind every time that Lisa starts her workday!
Lisa’s family includes her amazing son, several wonderful dogs, and a charming tortoise. When not working, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, dog training, adventuring, and mobile photography.”
